Pac-12 Picks – Week 11

What a way to start the week!  Last night Oregon was demolished (the final score was closer than it really was) by Stanford.  In a way, it almost felt like the end of a mini dynasty.  There were players crying on the Oregon sideline but there were also guys laughing.  It was a strange sight.  Their whole team seemed lost and, as a Husky fan, it was a great sight.  Some people would call that feeling petty and catty.  I guess they may be right, but why do they like words that end in ‘tty’ so much?  Really, that’s what sports are about.  You cheer against your rival no matter what and it may seem silly to some, but then again sports are just cheering for some guy to shoot a ball through a hoop or pass a ball to another guy.  I’m planning on writing a post about this thought soon but people need to just have fun with sports.  Take it as seriously as you want to, but just enjoy it.

That was a weird tangent but I’m hoping you’re still with us.  Pac-12 basketball is about to tip-off and this week is filled basketball games as well as football games.  We had our fantasy draft and I think all of the Good Guys are excited to see how the season plays out.

As for this week in football, the marquee game is already over.  All of the Good Guys (and our commenter Tyler) picked Oregon to win last night.  There are still some interesting games but anything more after last night is just gravy.

Pac-12 Predictions – Week 9

Once again, all of the Good Guys had the same record last week.  That will keep us all muddled in the standings with Dan and Joe having a one game lead in the standings.  A number of marquee games in the conference this week and they’re all on Saturday.  Here’s the picks!

The Good Guys Pac-12 Picks

Before I begin, I’ve seen rumors swirling that James Johnson will red-shirt this year because he doesn’t want to miss half of his senior season.  This has not been confirmed and is speculation so far but I think it’s pretty good speculation. Take it as you will.  Now, on to the post!

It’s the first week of Pac-12 picks and today is the first game.  Nothing can really describe my excitement.  I understand that some of you are bigger fans of the NFL and don’t share my level of excitement for the college game.  That’s fine.  But, for me, the college game is so precious.  It’s here for 12 or 13 times a year and then it is gone.  Those 12 or 13 games a year have supplied some of the best days of my life and always bring a fresh air of excitement to my sports world.

This week on our Pac-12 picks, we picked most of the same teams.  There are only 2 Pac-12 teams that play road games this week.  There’s only one Pac-12 team that is an underdog.  Most schools play teams that we won’t hear about again this season.  That’s okay.  For this week, we’ll give the Pac-12 a break on the schedule and just be thankful that it’s back.
